What You Missed at Tha L. Spot’s NYFW Fashion Experience 9.11.16!

On Sunday, September 11th, Tha L. Spot Ent. & P.R. LLC held its first New York Fashion Week Experience at Roulette Theater in Brooklyn. This fashion show was not your ordinary one. It was an experience that had a variety forms of entertainment to keep the audience engaged from beginning to end. Throughout the night, deejay Young Boogs had the audience dancing and singing along to the tunes. This show has left the audience talking about the performances to the fashion collections to the on-time schedule of the show.

Founder of Tha L. Spot Ent. & P.R. LLC, Jessica Lanice C. said,

 “I wanted to create a NYFW show that will highlight the new designers who may not have the opportunity to be featured in Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week, and to give music performers and entertainers an opportunity to be a part of a different atmosphere while still producing a quality show.”

Host Liz The International Diva started the show with her charming and amusing personality that had the crowd in awe of her. She introduced the first performers Porsha & Mercedes, a hip-hop sister duo, who had an entertaining set from their grand introduction to their wardrobe change.

The first designer to hit the runway was Fvn Clothing, who had a dance routine by sponsors Danse Xpressions to Kanye West’s “Pt. 2” ft. Desiigner, off of The Life of Pablo album, to set off the energy to showcase the designer’s new collection. The designer of Fvn Clothing, Geo Suggs showcased his tattoo-inspired collection that is a unisex collection.

Sponsor The Big Skweeze’s Radio Rema and Liz The International Diva aka Mama Sade did a funny skit “How To Catch A Cheater” to introduce the next designer A-Line Fashion Designs with a dance routine followed by Danse Xpressions. With A-Line Fashion Designs first runway show, the designer, Alicia R. Campbell, showcased her African-inspired skirts and dresses for women of various sizes which the audience was fascinated by the collection.

Hip-hop artist Zeyi captivated the ladies and had the guys agreeing to his lyrics with his performance that featured singer Islima Songbird and guitarist Bryan Duriex.

For the grand closing, fashion designer Chantel Gibbs opened her collection for Shannon Shenone with an opening dance routine by Danse Xpressions and ballerina Jaclyn-Ashley Laurino to Jazmin Sullivan’s “Masterpiece”. Then, showcased her new Fall collection that was a true masterpiece.

The fashion show was sponsored by Kreativ Styles, founded by Ayanna Renaud, who worked with the models and fashion designers in preparation to the fashion show.

ETC Fashion Group sponsored the event providing models and volunteers. Mirror The Salon by Carol’s Daughter based in Harlem styled the models hair. The Big Skweeze sponsored and showcased the host Radio Rema’s “Happie Wear” collection. The show was also sponsored by In Good Company and St. Mark’s Day School.
